It works, that's the main thing! I juat needed a remote to be able to hit "record". When I have my Osmo extended on the extension rod and I can't reach that record button, this is the best thing.Once I power it on, it syncs with my Osmo right away.The only thing I wish is that the the wrist strap was more compatible for those who had smaller wrists. The velcro wrist strap was so large that it wouldn't even velcro. If I had to fit it to the smallest fit, it just slides right off my wrist. The second velcro strap was only suitable to place around handlebars on a bike or around 2 of my fingers. Thus, I gave 4 stars.Otherwise, great item, easy to use, and not as expensive as the DJI brand.

Pleasantly surprised after purchasing the day after my originalDji gps remote died without any warning.In comparison,size wise it’s a bit larger than the dji versionSynching with the action 5 pro is much faster than the dji,powers in a lot faster as well.I may have to update when battery life and charge time are experienced.So far I like it a lot better for the known advantages alone,forgot to mention the priceAbout half the price of the original dji version.

Display stopped working after I flipped my kayak. In the water for maybe 3 minutes, screen fogged up and did not come back on. The remote trigger still works but I'm not able to use the remote's display for feedback. Not adequate for action sports.

This is really a problem with DJI Mimo, but you need that to embed the data in your video. My Action 5 Pro limits the file size to 16 GB so creates multiple files when the video is long enough, which easily happens when on a bike ride, typically every 15 minutes or so at 4K/60fps. Mimo unfortunately resets data, such as track and distance, that have to bridge these files, so for example, distance traveled resets to zero with every new file. Things like elevation and speed that don't need to bridge files are ok. But for bike riding distance traveled is one of the most important things you want and that makes it useless, at least for me. I'm not ok with just speed and elevation, but if that's ok with you then go for it. Just be aware of this serious limitation of the device and the Mimo app.This is a issue that Mimo tech support acknowledges but apparently has no interest in fixing.

The media could not be loaded. The remote is for when you cannot use your phone instead. Like maybe when you’re doing some kind of action sport and those button on a wrist mounted remote are crucial. That wasn’t my case (so far) and the MIMO app does what I want -and- shows me what is being recorded as it’s being recorded. But… this is all about that remote. The remote is good but maybe a bit bulky. Pairing it to the camera was easy and nearly instant. The remote has buttons that sorta mirror the buttons on the camera and give a little additional functionality. It’s really trimmed down and intuitive. Great device if you need to control that camera remotely and using the MIMO app on the phone is too awkward.
