Easy to install. It is nice to not have a key to get into the house. I have not tried the Alexa connection.

My only problem was the turn knob shaft was upside down and would not rotate to the correct position for installation. I had to call customer support which was helpful although they are available only during normal business hours. The fix was simple place the decretive cover over the lock body and rotate the thumb knob 180 degrees. It will correct the problem, you can not turn the shaft by hand, only with the cover on.

I have the four of the same locks on my home so I thought I would buy one for my mom’s house for a Christmas gift. The description said works with all the popular systems …but I didn’t know it only works with a security system! I tried to get it to work Christmas day and had to uninstall and put it back in the box to return. It is still in the box to return I just don’t have the time to return. I wasted $250 (including 3 yr protection)and wasted a lot of time try to get it work.The description should say ONLY works with a security system!

Called support and they told me since I was out of the 1 year warranty they could do nothing. Do not buy this hunk of chunk. There are far better options than to go with kwikset these days. Once this lock quit working and turned into basically a paper weight, I started exploring the different options available. You can find far better locks with much greater functionality for half the cost! Someone please explain to me why you would go with a trash company that does not stand behind their products. Think about it...they warranty this garbage for 1 year for a reason! Sorry kwikset, you fooled me once, you won't fool me again with your trash products.
