This was my only piece of luggage for a 2-week, 4 country trip to Europe. I was able to use it as a personal bag on all the cheap airlines and paid no luggage fees at all. I was never asked to check the size and it fit under all the seats making my trip hassle-free. The boxy shape means you maximize space. I also loved that the top flipped open completely making packing a breeze. It was pretty sturdy, yet not unattractive. Get a set of packing cubes for greatest efficiency. I fit 4 shirts, 3 pairs of pants, socks, underwear, toiletries, charging cables, and my electronics (no laptop) with ease. I hung my travel pillow from the clips on the outside. The ONLY downside is there is no little pouch for a water bottle. This will make a great weekend bag now that I am home.

Ok yes I just shouted that heading!! I really love this bag. I researched backpacks for months before I found & chose to try this bag. My family was going on a trip to Greece and my previous backpack's zipper was breaking. I chose to give this bag a shot because 1. It's size 2. It's organization 3. How it opened 4. The location of computer sleeveOur family frequently travel with only personal items on either mainstream or budget airlines. On many European airlines you must have a very tiny personal bag or pay a ton for a checked bag. Im a worry wart and don't like to check bags. I also don't like having to drag a roller bag over cobblestones, up stairs, or even through hotels. The wheels undoubtedly get on the bed and that too me is so gross after being all over the airports, sidewalks, streets etc!I also feel personally that it's a challenge and gives such feelings of freedom to fit all you need for a trip into this size personal items! That said our trip to Greece via London was 10 days long and yes I did fit everything I needed into this bag! I love the small pocket on the outside which allowed me to stick a couple things i needed easy access to. There's a tiny pocket at the top which is great for earbuds, chargers ,and a battery pack..again easy access when on the plane or waiting. The computer sleeve is located on the back of the bag. It's a zipper on the side that again allows for easy access to it for going through TSA but also let's you put it away quickly on the orher side!I love that the bag opens all the way up...this makes it convenient to look for and pack clothes. You can see every corner! The front flap has multiple mesh pockets which are great for under garments and other small items that can "get lost" in a bag normally. I tried 3 ways of packing to see what I liked best. I rolled, did kon Marie, and used cubes. I found that they all seemed to fit everything I wanted to take well. In the end I used my packing cubes because was just more tidy if I needed to open the bag up somewhere.This fit perfectly under the seats in both airlines I flew and was easy to get on & off the ferry we took the the island where we stayed. I was also thankful because it was so small it easily fit in multiply spots in our rental car (5 people in it so things got tight)All in all LOVE this bag! Completely recommend. Plan on getting one for both my kids and maybe my husband 😉

Every year we take an Allegiant Air flight to visit our daughter and son-in-law in Florida. I had been using another top-load backpack as my underseat bag for several years. My MacBook Air 13" always travels with me, and I found it was so nice to have the top-load feature, to just slide it out at the security checkpoint without disturbing the other items packed inside. This year, in planning our trip, I noticed in others' reviews that there were many comments about Allegiant (and other airlines) now being extremely particular about the size of carryons and underseat bags. Measurements were very specific, and after confirming with Allegiant's own website, I felt to be safe and avoid checked bag fees at the last minute, I should look for a new backpack, since the one I had was about 1 1/2" over the supposed maximum allowed length.I spent hours perusing the available choices. There were two options for "Allegiant Underseat Bag", but neither was a backpack, and neither had a top-load computer compartment. After much searching, I found this backpack. Instead of the top-load computer access, it has a full length side zipper near the padded back panel, to access your laptop from the side. I actually found this feature to be even more convenient in use than the top load, where I had to unzip the entire top to get to my computer. This side zipper compartment contains only my laptop, so no worrying about anything else falling out. The vertical front panel zipper compartment will hold flat documents or a magazine, but not much else. The interior of the backpack, which opens like a small suitcase, has pockets for travel essentials on the back of the front panel, and a large compartment for clothing, with elasticized clips to hold everything in place.I cannot carry a shoulder bag on my sloping shoulders to save my life. I had always used a bag with a cross-body strap, but even then, one shoulder would get sore, so I'd have to switch it around to the other shoulder, especially while navigating large airports. Then I decided to try a backpack, but didn't want the bulky college-student-or-going-camping look. I did find that a backpack was the perfect thing to balance the weight of my stuff on both shoulders, and I can now traverse the airport in actual comfort. This particular backpack is now my favorite - it's more comfortable than my first one, nicely streamlined but holds even more (slightly less padding overall), and what a pretty color! This one's a keeper!As an aside, when we boarded our Allegiant flight, I discovered that my old backpack would still have fitted under the seat in front of me. We had both packed conservatively. This new one was full, but not overstuffed, and there was plenty of space between the bag and the seat framing. I had a middle seat this time. If you have an aisle seat, there's a bit more room even. Maybe it was just the small airports we flew between, and the flight crew wasn't as picky as I had been led to believe they would be with the reported "new stricter guidelines". I didn't see anyone measuring their bags in the "Does your bag fit" measurer, and no one was forced to check their bag because it didn't fit - including in the overheads. And some of those carryons were even expanded, and stuffed to the gills. So while I ultimately would not have needed to replace my backpack, I'm still glad I did. I like this one better, and it's now my permanent underseat bag for traveling.
