This little switch packs a punch. It is hardened, so you can used it in extreme environments. Regular switches usually have an operating temperature of 0-40C, this one goes from -40 to 75C!It comes with a single mode 850nm fiber port, so that will work great to connect to nearby full-size switches. Keep in mind that the distance limit on this generally will be around 300m.It does not support vlans and is not managed, but you'll probably won't need that.

This is a compact, industrial-grade media converter with a surprising amount of versatility for its size — combining one ST-style 850nm multimode fiber uplink with four RJ45 Gigabit ports in a single, DIN-rail-mountable chassis.The unit ships with three different power options (barrel jack, screw terminal, and USB), making it unusually adaptable for cabinet, rack, or even ad hoc desktop use. The all-metal enclosure is clearly built for control cabinets or edge devices — IP40-rated with a working temp range that goes from North Pole to blast furnace (-40°C to 75°C). Not fan-cooled, but the case does feel like it could double as a heat sink.Setup is plug-and-play — there’s no web GUI or VLAN tagging, but for most control-network or isolated-backbone use cases, that’s not a concern. Just connect your fiber run (ST port only, no SFP), power it up, and you’ve effectively extended your network without needing to splice in another full-size switch. Link speed negotiation worked on all four copper ports with no issue.I’ll update this if anything odd pops up long-term, but for now: well-built, thoughtfully designed, and seems ideal for anyone extending fiber into tight network closets or harsh electrical environments.

This fiber media converter is easy to use,no switches to set just plug in play.In testing on 100 meter fiber the converter added 2 mil sec to ping time compared to direct wire network or other media converter ,4 compared to 2 as shown in photo,speed varies from test to test. I have no way to check full speed because my internet connection is rated at 500 meg only.

Im a little not smart and got this not seeing that it said MULTIMODE FIBER... so it didnt work with my SingleMode setup..Other than that it feels very nicely made and I like that there are 4 RJ-45 ports instead of just one. Other than that I like that there is also 3 different ways to power the device and that it has a built in rail mount. If i could actually use this I would like it even more lol.
