I love the fact that it doesn't require any additional power cables and just needs the connection to the car. It also has a usb c port for connecting to a computer. It works with my Civic and pretty simple to use. I think this works great for a hobby/DIY user.

Handy, very versatile diagnostic tool

This is a very well-made scanner, which comes with everything you need to use it. There is a smart, tough, container with a zip and a handle, for carrying the device and storing it away when not in use. Inside the container the device is held in place by an elastic strap and there are a USB-C to USB-C, and a cable for attaching the device to the OBDII port in a car, as well as an instruction manual and quick start guide. There is also a card with instructions on how to access a usage guidelines video. The device is solid and designed to make it easy to hold in one hand It is very simple to connect the scanner to your car using the supplied lead and to get started.Once on navigating menu options appear on the very clear scanner screen. From reading the product description you can see that there is a huge amount that this scanner can do from checking engine codes and looking at Engine, Transmission, SRS (Airbag), and ABS to clearing codes. Navigating the interface is very straightforward using an arrow button to move through the options, an OK button to select an option and a back button to move back up a level. Whilst I think it is true that a beginner could use this scanner, I think that they would need to thoroughly read the instructions and be clear that they understand what the various options really do so they do not accidentally change something that they should not change. I have a Vauxhall Agila and was able to manually select this through the interface. Personally, I feel reasonably happy looking at the diagnostics but don’t really know enough about how the car operates to want to change anything. This is great for someone who is confident working on their own car or a car mechanic.

Really impressed with this, small and compact and fairly lightweight considering. Used on Audi A3 and recognised it without issues. Saves the hassle of the chunk of change for the garage to do this. Best feature being the reset. Manged to reset the sensor as needed.Compact and small enough to leave in the book or a car supply bag.Clear screen with easy to read display and responsive screen.Great priceNo issues when using as fast response timeGreat value, recommend to anyone to save that stress!

A good scanner BUT...

This ruggedised scanner comes in a semi-hard case like the battery tester I also reviewed for AVAPOW.Keeps it all neat and well protected and less chance of losing the cable.The unit automatically switches on when either the USBC cable is linked or the data cable is fixed to the car.The screen is very clear and well laid out and the buttons are rubber and have an easy satisfying click to them.In use, it firstly asks you to either pick your car from a list manually, or ask the unit to AUTO find the car.In my case it is a new Defender L663 which it found automatically but then said that the scanner was incompatible and to then set it manually.Doing this by picking Landrover-Defender from the menu and then the year and it says that the new Defender is a L613. It did continue to read the settings from the car, but there were some tests or PCB's that it said were incompatible.For this reason I lost the confidence to continue using the scanner.A pity as it is well made, a good price and well designed.

Cool scanner - easy to use and diagnose

Whether it be for clearing fault codes or diagnostics, these devices are worth their weight in gold in my view.If you're a pro or amateur to using these - this unit provides a simple but clear mechanism to both understand and run tests.The device itself is really compact in size and fits neatly into the included case. It comes with everything you need to get you up and running and I really like the quality of the scanner itself, it's solidly made, clear buttons and screen - plus feels comfortable when running diagnostics.It comes with two cables and both need to be connected to run the unit itself and then scan. You power directly from the cars USB C ports or can use a converter directly from the cars lighter power and then just connect the OBC.Once on, the menus are clear and simple to navigate. It's essentially idiot proof, it will automatically scan and provided your model isn't some obscure vehicle, it will work without any faffing around.You can manually select the vehicles too and it comes with several preconfigured. I used this on a Volkswagen without issue for example.It enables you to scan the transmission, ABS, engine etc and will provide info on any issues - both now and historically.The codes can be used against your manual to give an idea of what's at fault or a quick search online will indicate the issues.It's also super handy for confirming vehicle info such as the VIN and manufacturers info. I can see this being used when buying a different car and checking everything is kosher for example.I'm very new to using this but I'm sure it will prove to be invaluable with the data it provides - especially when it comes to MOT time.There's so much you can do with it. There's load of videos online that go into more detail and show how to get different info and exactly what you can do.

This scan tool is a total powerhouse, especially consider the price point. I'm a believer in trying to fix whatever I can myself, and this tool has made my life dealing with my 2013 Equinox much easier.My Equinox has been having oil digestion issues and an intermittent check engine light on. I have tried using one of those $20 scanners and it just doesn't provide you with very accurate data that is live like this one does. It's a perfect scanner for a DIY/hobbyist who likes to work on their own vehicle and has a ton of features that a standard little OBD reader doesn't come with. Considering it's size and the screen and processing power, I was really surprised that it's powered off of just the OBD II without a power cord, which is a huge plus. This provides good live data and gets into many of the vehicle systems including the transmission computer and the ABS module.If you need something basic just to reset the check engine light, this will be total overkill, but if you want a powerful scan tool at a very reasonable price, this will make you happy for sure.

I was expecting a little more after reading the description. It has a good size and is easy to use. But as many other reviews have stated, not all cars are in the database. only 1 of my three cars are included. It's not touch screen, but that is okay for me. It's intuative enough for the beginner or intermediate shadetree mechanic -- if your vehicle is in the database. This is one scanner you could leave in the trunk where ever you go. It's not outrageously, expensive, and have to worry about theft. When it works, it works, when it doesn't it doesn't. Having read many other reviews, it appears that the company is very customer friendly and continues to add vehicles to each update. Overtime my vehicles may be added to the database.

Really impressed with this ... does what the big obd reader do .. electric hand brakes service ,airbags lights it does the lot .. Great value for money no subscription needed. Very simple to use .. I never post reviews but this little thing is brilliant
