This camera is a good value for the money, and has good picture quality. All of my cameras are outdoors not protected from the elements; and some of them have 100+ feet of cable on them to reach the DVR. But I am having to replace cameras occasionally due to (1) water intrusion; (2) if no water, the picture just slowly degrades; (3) won't switch from daytime color mode to infrared; or (4) it just stops working.In the five years since I purchased the 8-camera set with DVR, I have replaced all of the cameras at least once. You may have better luck if your cameras are somewhat protected from weather (under an overhang?) or if you are running shorter cables.Also, the setup instructions may tell you how to set features with the switch on the cable, but not say what the different modes do for you.
