I missed having a dimmer lamp like I had in my childhood. I had bought a couple in the last 10 years that turned out to be cheap junk and I ended up throwing them away. Then smart things of all kinds came along and I spotted these bulbs. They are bright when I tell Alexa “bedroom light 100%”. My room needs a bright light with just one lamp in it in order to see what I am trying to do. At 10%, this light is perfect for before bedtime when I’m getting ready to go to sleep or reading. My only complaint is that it gives me the option (the app) to connect to Apple’s Home app and it doesn’t work. But really I use Alexa devices to control everything in my one bedroom apartment. I have an Echo device in my bedroom and another one in my living room so she can hear me all the time. I feel like I have a dimmer lamp like in my childhood again with these lightbulbs. You don’t need to have a hub for these, there is the Sengled app and it connects easily to Alexa devices.

Do not buy these lights I have bought these lights the number of times i’ve recommended them to my mom. I recommended them to my friends and they bought them and like them I bought them for years for some reason this year they’re having lots of problems. Their app keeps going out on them constantly. I’ve lost so many of the smartbulbs because they won’t not just connect anymore. They won’t turn on anymore not even by the switch right now. They’re out again. System is down working with the Alexa. It does not work or lets you at all anymore it even says on Alexa when you try to connect, sorry this doesn’t work anymore with these bulbs and it’s not gonna work anytime soon. They’ve bent down for months. The app has been down from the sengled again this last week so I can’t use it. One of them is for my kitchen, which is the switch so it doesn’t work at all the switch stays on and I can’t get it on at all. I’m actually just ready to just take them and throw them awaythe last three I have out of the sixth that I did have in the last months. I’m just ready to take them and throw them away cause they stay down forever and then you have to really them up. Get rid of everything and re-link them up and forget it half the time a fold or two goes out completely in a wall turn back on you have to throw it away anyway something going on with them do not buy these bulbs buy something different. I do not recommend these bulbs anymore and I’m actually gonna throw the ones away at my mom’s because she needed those because they’re disabled and they’re not even working so buy something different. Do not buy these bowls. Do not recommend them anymore this pasted year I only have 3 bulbs left out of 9 bulbs I had

Subjective Impression .... That's why I waited to review these bulbs. I wanted to see how well they perform long term.The first thing I should mention, in fairness to the bulbs, is my internet/wifi is sketchy. I have a100 year old house, solid interior walls. That might affect what I'm going to say about the bulbs. I also have Charter service and they cut service weekly for "maintenance". That could also impact the bulbs. Finally, the Sengled app leaves much to be desired.The bulbs are great, easy install, good lighting and they easily interface with Alexa. As long as the connection is good, Alexa is a smoothe operator. Sometimes, most often, I use verbal Alexa commands. When I don't want to wake my dog up, I use the quick access Alexa light panel on my phone. (If I wake my dog he thinks I should give him treats, midnight snacks, and he has to go out to potty)The internet/wifi interruptions cause a bulb disconnect and I have to reset most of them. That takes more time than I want to give a bulb(s). Sometimes the bulbs completely back out and I have to delete them and re-install them, name them again and hope the connection holds. That takes waaay too much time for almost a dozen bulbs that I have connected. The app makes an easy install but the app management is messy. For instance, an installed bulb page doesn't give options that you may want, like a quick reconnect and if you create room groups, it's difficult to undo. Suggest making your groups via Alexa. Use the app to install, select the Alexa control and do everything else in the Alexa app.Supposedly the bulb should last 25,000 hours.In doing my math on my hall ceiling bulb based on typical usage, it should have lasted about 2 years. That bulb has been in service for 11 months and it's currently lighting at about 50% (for 2 weeks now). So maybe that 25,000 hours is 100% for awhile, 50% for awhile, and 25% for awhile, continuing to dim until it dies. I expect the 25k hours to be at 100% for at least 2 years based on the usage of the hall light. Problem is, by the time you know this, return options are expired and you don't know until it starts dimming down. I guess it would be the same with any brand. My hall light is used daily but for very short periods, like filling dog's water bowl or doing security checks at night, less than 10 minutes at a time.The den light, installed at the same time as the hall light, is used for longer times and is still performing at 100%. Apparently the longevity of the bulbs is subjective.Based on my experience, I like the bulbs as long as there are no wifi glitches. Regarding this brand or any other brand, how long they last at 100% is anyone's guess. I wanted to review this bulb because I think it's fair to share how it has performed overall. I can't say it's any better or worse than another brand.

I bought this light bulb a few years back. Then I bought a color changing light bulb, same brand. They still work, never have they gone disconnected from Alexa or home wifi. And it's because I've used these before that I chose to order a few more. Performance is fantastic. In this particular item, brightness is great. Set up for someone who isn't tech savvy is not too frustrating but just a tad just because I don't understand how to go from 5g wifi to 2.4/5 wifi. I don't know what I did but I get them connected. Once they are connected no more issues will be encountered. Alexa devices respond just great with this light bulb. I made the mistake to buy a smart light bulb from Walmart thinking convenience will be good. Paid what I paid for 4 of these for just one! And I am so unhappy with them. They disconnect from home wifi. Or only one responds not the other. Alexa devices won't always find their connection. Just overall experience. After my first sengled light bulb purchase I assumed all smart light bulbs would work just about the same. I WAS WRONG. I will continue to purchase and recommend sengled lightbulbs. My first purchase was in 2020 I think and they still work just as perfect as day 1. I truly recommend it, give them a try you will not regret it.

These bulbs won't tie into other smart home apps because they do not do the typical "flashing bulb" install process. They were simple to connect to the Sengled app itself, but then the Sengled app is yet another app that has to be linked into the smart home/assistant (Google or Alexa).It might be fine for most, but I already have two or three apps controlling bulbs, switches, sensors and a ton of other devices, and in some cases, I want to build routines that trigger on devices across different brands. The Sengled app is extremely restrictive and only controls a handful of their proprietary bulbs, so although they were bright, easy to use, and did tie into Google home, they just did not meet my requirements.
