EL-506TSBBW is an advanced 2 line scientific calculator with Direct Algebraic Logic (D.A.L.) display, which allows calculations to be displayed as written on paper. Perfect for students studying higher level math and science including pre-algebra, algebra I & II, geometry, precalculus, calculus, trigonometry, statistics, biology, chemistry, and physics. This model features a glossy black finish with white accents. The home key allows users to start fresh from any screen. The EL-506TSBBW has eight temporary memories, four formula memories, one independent memory, and one last answer memory. This calculator also allows equation editing & playback, 1, 2 & 3 variable statistics, normal & stat modes, six regression types, and N-BASE calculations: HEX, BIN, DEC, OCT, PEN. Other functions include: logarithms, reciprocals, powers, roots, factorials, normal probability, trigs, and hyperbolic trigs. Includes a 3D light reflecting, protective hard case and operates on hybrid power (solar and battery).

I bought this for my 13 year old granddaughter because she needed one for 9th grade Algebra. This calculator supposedly has over 400 functions, trust me no one teaches you four hundred functions!! What I learned, because I'm taking algebra in college, is that you need to go to the Sharp website and download the user manual. The manual explains how the function works, and the different programmable modes for different types of calculations. Then the manual gives you examples to practice. After you practice with your new calculator, you just may get close to knowing a few hundred functions! Also look on Youtube for tutorials, the best ones are from Sharp-South Africa division.

This has quickly become my Favorite calculator !Especially enjoy the non-glare face & keys,as opposed to their EL-501X model.Tip:Replace the standard Alkaline battery (LR44)with a Silver-Oxide # 357.Longer battery life,with much less chance of Leakage !

The EL506 has been around for years. This particular version is really good:(1) Larger number display is easy to read, especially for older eyes.(2) It is completely algebraic. Other calcs make you go 30 cos, which is postfix notation. All functions on this model are done just like you'd write on paper, cos 30. You don't even need parenthesis.(3) Build quality and accuracy of functions are quite good.(4) Cost is nominal. I buy 2 or 3 at a time. If you lose one somewhere, you're not out mega$ like an HP.(5) The one caveat to this model is you MUST read the manual for examples of syntax!(6) To sum up, if you want an inexpensive but good scientific by your pc or in your pocket, give this a try.

I have bought several of these from the same company. They came with dead batteries. I changed them, and this is an older model. However, I think if you are going to sell something EVERYTHING should be in working order. The calculator itself is fantastic. I have been using this model of Sharp for years. I highly recommend it. But not from where I bought mine.
